Today
we're kicking off our tenth season delving deeper into one of the
biggest stories of human courage. A story that captured headlines
around the globe.
It was a July evening, and Canadian missionaries John and Eloise Bergen
were just getting ready to settle down for the night at their Kenyan
home – when they found themselves fighting for their lives.
Brutally assaulted, John and Eloise are fortunate to be alive. But in
the immediate aftermath of the attacks, they spoke a message of love
and forgiveness for their attackers. It was a move that would earn them
admiration from some; disbelief and scorn from others.
Today, in an exclusive interview with the Bergens and their family,
we’ll look at their choice to forgive. We’ll ask
what motivated it, and what makes it possible. And we’ll
explore the impact their choice is having on others. Read

Twenty-two thousand. It's a big number
that represents a group of small people.
That's because it's the number of children awaiting adoption in this country.
Today on Listen Up, a child's right to a home and ways that you can foster or
adopt these children!
Over the past decade, the number of children in
foster care in Canada has increased 65 per cent. It's a shocking reality that
translates into disturbing numbers. More than 76-thousand children live in
foster care. 22-thousand await adoption. Only a small percentage of them will
ever find the homes and families they dream of.
Today: a story that
defies the odds. Vicki Mansell's childhood was headline-making for abuse and the
loss of her parents. What's happened to her in the 20 years since her horrific
tragedy?
We'll visit a BC couple who spent 25 years fostering, and who
call 12 children their own, including Vicki Mansell, and interview a group of
people who care about Canada's need to find homes for 22,000 children. They
gathered in Toronto recently, to bring attention to the problem. Read

Talk: Your Thoughts on "Waiting, Hoping, Remembering"
No need for stress! Just enjoy the gift of each
moment. Merry Christmas! Connie
Another great "made me think" show. Very clever the way you got us all
riled up about how self indulgent and wasteful we are and then when
we're vulnerable and primed you intro us to "Free Trade" ops. Fred
A visit or contact with a friend. Some people leave a gift at the door.
I would rather have no gift & the contact...an afternoon tea,
or just a little visit & time of sharing. That is what I will
remember. Marion

Talk: Your Thoughts on "Taser
Tragedy: Who is my Neighbour?"
James Grunau: Fine job with the show on
Sunday and the perspective on neighborliness. I had never
seen the show before and was impressed in how you handled the situation
in a thoughtful and deep way without being too "religious"
Nelida: Its my first time to watch your program LISTEN UP
until it catched my attention about the man
who tasered and died at Vancouver
Airport. It gives me opportunity to share and voice
out my opinions on the topic each week of your program LISTEN
UP. I really like your program and it's very
interesting , ' cause all pertains of what's happening each
day and in everyday life. For sure, I will watch
LISTEN UP this Sunday
Jake: Regarding your programs of late concerning the man at Vancouver
air port. It seems you are some what biased in that you are making
judgment on the air port staff and the police. It seems to me that your
TV time could be better spent preaching the gospel of
salvation than to stir into situations you are not very familiar with.
