Heart for Haiti February 7, 2010
January 12th, 2010. A devastating 7.0 earthquake rocked Haiti leaving over 100,000 people dead. It was the worst quake to hit the Caribbean island nation in over 200 years. If you Google the words "Christian," "Haiti" and "Help," you have more than 52 million choices.
Listen Up hosts a special forum discussion with various agencies. How are the millions of dollars Canadians have given to Haiti being put to work? We'll look at an overview of the effectiveness of the people and agencies entrusted with those huge donations.
Special thanks to all of our guests who took part in this week's forum discussion. For more on our guests and resources click here.

In an upcoming episode, we want to tackle the question of “why?” Why would God not have stopped the disaster in Haiti? Why must innocent people suffer? But for today, we wanted to tackle the question “what?” What do we do when the most important command of God is to love God and love people? Here’s what we do: we make ourselves useful for Haiti. Donate, pray, encourage aid agencies, and perhaps go. I’m leading a Samaritan’s Purse team of you, our viewers, to go and help rebuild shattered places like these they’ve filmed for us here. Call in at 403-474-9292 and start the paper work on going to help Haiti with Listen Up TV. We featured 14 charities in Haiti today – all need your help - pick a place to be useful to – they are on the website at www.Samaritanspurse.ca. Video Podcast Back to Video List |
