| Daily Christian talk shows 100 Huntley
Street and It's A New Day are starting the fall season with a push into
expanding their audiences.
It's a New Day hopes to gain viewers in Edmonton and Calgary by signing up with the new A Channel. Beginning Sept. 18th, they can be viewed in Edmonton on channel 51, cable 7, and in Calgary on channel 5, cable 8 as of Sept 20th. The Winnipeg based program with Willard and Betty Thiessen is now carried on 11 Canadian stations. 100 Huntley Street begins broadcasting live into Quebec on the Global network on Sept. 5 bringing their reach to 25 stations across Canada. Montreal, Sherbrooke and Quebec City are the target areas of the new expansion, with the TV ministry opening a bilingual prayer center for viewers in Montreal. Over 600 viewers a day currently phone the ministry requesting prayer and are prayed with by staff and volunteers on the phone lines. Both Trinity and Crossroads Television are in the process of reapplying for a 24 hour Christian television station in the Toronto area. Crossroads application has been accepted for a CRTC hearing, while Trinity is still processing CRTC requests for revisions to their application. No date for a hearing into the requests has been set.
