A weekly news and current affairs report produced in Winnipeg for Trinity Television is gaining ground in popularity as Canada's only Christian TV newscast. Kingdom Report is researched, written and anchored by broadcaster Greg Musselman, and features former Winnipeg newscaster Heather Wells as a co-anchor.

Designed to "put lights on rather than kick the darkness," the report covers 15 to 30 minutes of Christian, mission and religion news each week. It specializes in a lead feature, with recent topics covering the anti-gambling initiatives in Alberta and an examination of new attitudes toward prayer and medicine. The news philosophy is to "encourage, challenge and inform" the church, said Musselman.

The weekly report is included as a regular program content for It's a New Day, the flagship program for Trinity Television. A former Edmonton newsman and reporter, Musselman also reports for TSN, the national sports network. At TSN, a one minute story requires $1500 in production costs, and Musselman bemoans the reality that Christian TV news has a long way to go before it can reach the resource base required. Kingdom Bound is hoping to partner with other broadcast ministries to enhance it's viability.
