| Cubans persecuted for Christianity will
be featured on 100 Huntley Street the week of February 23. Christians in
Havana and dissident Cubans will share their stories of how the revival
prayer "Cuba para Cristo" is sweeping the island. Over one million now
attend 54 Protestant denominations in an atheistic regime of 11 million
people. Renowned Cuban historian Dr. Fidel Ramos said ten years ago there
were only 100,000 Cubans who would have described themselves as Christian.
While persecution in Cuba has lessened signficantly, two of three church
leaders interviewed said they still face weekly harrassing visits from
police. The look into Cuba was possible because Open Doors Ministry financed
a documentary team to travel undercover, it's the first time a Christian
TV crew has been able to research revival on the island. It's a great example
of the kind of story gathering that can happen when ministries partner
together.
