"Death
In The Snow"

| "This
morning I watched the segment of Listen Up that spoke of the life and celebration
service for Melissa Straddon, I believe. I felt it was one of those
divine appointments. I am not usually home at this hour and would
not normally have been tuned it. Today I decided to work at home.
We have had a number of tragic losses in recent months, losses of young
lives. . . In the past week alone, a fourteen year old was struck
and killed while in-line skating and a seven year old was struck and killed
by his school bus when he chased after his baseball cap. Earlier
this year, a seventeen year old died after a long battle with cancer.
It is for her family that I am making this request. The mother is
very angry with God; the father is numb, not talking. When I heard
Melissa's parents speak of their perspective on Melissa's life. . . counting
it and valuing it in days. . . I thought I would like to be able to offer
it to other hurting families, also one to offer VON or the Compassionate
Friends group for parents who have lost children. Please express our sincere
thanks to Melissa's parents for so courageously haring their story so that
others might be helped."

"The
Fight for Marriage" |
| "...To
be frank, I was expecting to have to defend myself on a personal level
and thought you were going to be somewhat hostile, casting me as a "bad
homosexual." You'll understand that this is something that I have frequently
faced in the past from journalists from faith-based publications or shows.
Your friendly face was a source of relief and I thank you for the opportunity
to explain our position....We are NOT trying to impose anything on churches.
Instead, we seek to have equal access to the civil marriage institution.
Why? Because otherwise, it's a denial of our right to equality. This denial
is hurtful and has grave consequences...I know that it's asking some people
to make a huge change in their outlook."

| "I
have been a long-time viewer of 100 Huntley Street and I feel impressed
to write to you to let you know that I appreciate Listen Up.
I have noticed that 100 Huntley Street is applying Christian beliefs
to our every day world -- and that there is more "substance" to the programming.
Good! Keep up the boldness to speak out -- and also to educate the
public about our laws and how it affects Christians. I am so glad
that you are also reaching the public intellectually..."

"Valentine's
Day: Significance of Singleness" |
| "I
think being single has too many challenges, if we are to be our best for
God. I don't like a single life and I will encourage people to get married.
I'm not yet married and living my life for God, but do not intend to remain
single for too long. I am also searching for the right woman. I'm 33 years."

| "I
find of late that English is getting difficult to use when describing topics
of a spiritual nature, but I'll give it a try. What a load of crap!! There
if one guy on the program and he's a pastor. I am a single, middle-aged
Christian man. I am single because no one said "yes". I'm always "a good
friend"...My parents threw me away. How will I heal from the abuse, neglect,
rejection, abandonment when there is no acknowledgement of me being. The
scars run deep. The wounds are frequently reopened."

| "Thank
you, thank you, thank you for the show about living as a Christian single.
For once I could identify with someone I saw on a Christian television
program! Hearing the articulate guests and listening to Lori Smith talk
about singleness really ministered to me. No one in the 10 or so
churches I've attended have EVER told me that is was okay to be single!
...after all Jesus was single (gimme a break)! I wish there were more shows
about being a single Christian! Keep up the good work."

| "I
loved your show about single women. Who was that one author who you
interviewed who was single? I am very interested in her book and
other books about how to not be angry at God, and be not married. Thank
you so much and God speed."

"Changes
To The Divorce Law" |
| "I
just watched part of your program today on divorce. I am 29 years old now,
but my parents divorced when I was about 6 years old. My Dad was
never home anyway because he worked too much and he was out of town as
well. I have 3 older brothers and my Mom had full custody of us...I
had only about three full days or so in my life to see my dad. To
make the best of the memories I can gather from his personal stuff,
I am slowly working on a section in my room to remember him by. Like your
guest today, I came to the Lord in August 1991 on the same beliefs as your
guest."

| "I
saw your program this evening on Jan 13, 2003 . You interviewed a
lawyer.. Georgia Lee Lang. I would like to help with the activation
of "shared Parenting" rather than custody as a place to start with
families when they divorce. Please send me her e-mail or web page
--so that I can help rally people to support her cause as she works with
Bill "C -22"..."

| "I
have just finished watching Lorna and Bill 22 on Divorce. I must also tell
you I am divorced and remarried for 27 years. During my second marriage
is when I found Jesus and asked him to come into my heart. Well in
January my son went to meet his father for the first time in life, trying
to really understand the situation. I was very nervous, but you know
I feel so much better now. I really thought about what those kids
said tonight on your program and God willing I think I can forgive my ex
for all hurts and pass injustices."

From
a 100 Huntley Street Prayer Line Operator:
"I
was back on the phone lines at Huntley today. Myself and others there
received numerous response calls (more than normal) to Listen Up,
on what divorce does to children, and to David and Rhonda's response following
Lorna's section. I ask you to listen tonight at 9PM. Can you see
that the church needs ministry to couples, to families?"
